Wednesday 20th March – Leeds Salon hosts the final of the annual Headingley Festival of Ideas debating competition for years 10&11 between the north Leeds qualifying round winners – Allerton High School and Carr Manor Community School – and the winners of the Tetley 2019 competition for south and central Leeds schools – Woodkirk Academy.

HFoI 2019 CHAMPIONS: Allerton High School: Hannah Proffett, Lizzie Snow, Miriam Warm, and Eleanor Gray all received family tickets to Thackray Medical Museum, and copies of the Oxford Very Short Introduction to Democracy and Vue Cinema vouchers from the University of Law.
BEST INDIVIDUAL PRIZE: Lizzie Snow, Allerton High received a copy of the Oxford Very Short Introduction to Politics and a Vue Cinema voucher and a Debating Matters mug.
HIGHLY COMMENDED PRIZE: Anandita Ghosh, Woodkirk Academ received a copy of the Oxford Very Short Introduction to Politics and a Vue cinema voucher.
